The term ACORD is an acronym for the Association for Operations Research and Development. Founded in 1970, is a global, nonprofit organization serving the insurance and related industries.
According to Wikipedia: ACORD is widely known across the industry for the publication and maintenance of an extensive archive of standardized forms (see ACORD forms list below).
